A non-profit organization that stands for better understanding of sharks, with special emphasis on protection, conservation and research of these creatures. Scientific projects focus mainly on the interaction between men and sharks, and shark devastation and misunderstanding since the release of the movie "Jaws." They organize seminars, lectures, public talks and cooperates with the media to broadly reach the general public.

The Ocean Conservancy

The Ocean Conservancy promotes healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems and opposes practices that threaten ocean life and human life. Through research, education, and science-based advocacy, The Ocean Conservancy informs, inspires, and empowers people to speak and act on behalf of the oceans. In all its work, The Ocean Conservancy strives to be the world's foremost advocate for the oceans.

Shark Research Institute

A world-wide non-profit organization created to sponsor and conduct scientific research on sharks and promote shark conservation. They work with the scientific community and marine resource users concerned about the health of our marine ecosystem, to correct misperceptions about sharks and stop shark slaughter. Current programs involve visual and satellite tracking, behavioral and DNA studies of sharks, environmental advocacy, publications and public education.

Shark Trust

An organization founded to promote the study, management and conservation of sharks, skates and rays. As the UK member of the European Elasmobranch Association, they collaborate with other national member bodies including commercial fishermen, recreational sea anglers, divers, yachtsmen, and all those who want to ensure the future survival of these fascinating but threatened animals in British, European and international waters.

WildAid

WildAid believes that the governments and communities of the world can reverse the devastation of our planet's wildlife. Their goal is simple and specific...to decimate the illegal wildlife trade within our lifetimes, allowing threatened species to recover to safe levels. Through their Active Conservation Awareness Program, WildAid distributes consumer awareness messages to over 1 billion people every week globally through partners including CNN, Discovery and Star TV.

Pfleger Institute of Environmental Research

A non-profit organization dedicated to researching and promoting important issues in marine biology and fisheries. They are currently involved in projects around the globe including white shark tracking off the coast of Baja California and Mexico. Striving to fill the void between academia and marine research management agencies, their applied field research is directly linked to the development of the policy that contributes to the sound management of our marine resources.

Hai Chance

A non-profit organization, cooperating with SHARKPROJECT, dedicated to the international protection of sharks. They believe that if they can show us how these animals really behave, they can clear up the prejudices against them. They feel that if we don't do something soon, time could almost be up for the sharks and that our oceanic ecological system will stand or fall depending upon their survival.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

An organization founded in 1977 with the mandate of marine mammal protection and conservation. Committed to the eradication of pirate whaling, poaching, shark finning, unlawful habitat destruction, and violations of established laws in the World's oceans, Sea Shepherd assists national and international bodies in the enforcement of international law under authority of the United Nations World Charter for Nature.
